Pharmaplan customer Roche honored
ISPE Award “Facility of the Year 2020 – Equipment Innovation”
In the category “Equipment Innovation” this year’s award went to the In-Vivo Research Project by F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG in Basel “B098: Setting the new standards for an in vivo building”. This is the first time that the prize has been awarded to an in-vivo research and laboratory building. “The new In-Vivo building brings innovation to one of the least understood areas of the pharmaceutical research and development process. The technical innovation found in every part of the project aims to protect researchers and animals, increase efficiency and set new industry standards for animal research,” the jury explained.
As the general planner, Pharmaplan in Switzerland was responsible for the engineering (process design/plant engineering, laboratory & vivarium, TGA, automation) and coordination (electrics, ventilation, construction/architecture) of this highly flexible and highly automated research and laboratory facility.
Above all, the building’s highlights are the modular laboratory concept, which allows a customizable conversion within just two weeks, the fully automated handling and cleaning of the cages and the well thought-out use of AGVs.
